Delete Field/Tab

The page for deleting fields/tabs in a Workspace is accessed by selecting Administration | Workspace | Field Maintenance from the FootPrints Toolbar.

To delete a field/tab:

  1. Select the field/tab in the dialog box (it will be highlighted in blue).
  2. Click Remove.  The field/tab is removed from the dialog, and is no longer included in the Workspace.
  3. Enter your password and click GO.

Note

Deleted data fields are no longer viewable, and FootPrints forms no longer contain that field.  The column is also deleted and the data no longer accessible.  To undelete a field (assuming you've made a backup of your database), contact Numara Software for instructions.

Deletion Behaviors

When deleting fields, a warning is displayed.

Deletion is not permitted if a field is part of some other feature (such as a field dependency). In those instances, the relationship between the field and the other feature must first be severed before the field can be deleted.

Deleting tabs/sections moves all fields in that tab to the previous tab. If there is no previous tab, the field(s) go to top of next tab. If there is no previous or next tab, then the tab cannot be deleted.
