You are here: Chapter 1: Welcome to Numara FootPrints > Hardware and Software Requirements > Linux/UNIX Requirements

Linux/UNIX Requirements

As a 100% web-based software application, Numara FootPrints resides on a single, central computer running a web server. Client software is not required and a standard web browser is all that is needed to launch, run and manage the system. Numara FootPrints supports most platforms available today, as well as multiple browsers, databases, e-mail systems and client systems.

(1) Use of Numara FootPrints with an Oracle database may require database licenses. For more information, contact Oracle at www.oracle.com.

(2) The number of users refers to the average number of concurrent users on the system at any one time. This should include agents and 1-2 percent of the total number of customers (if using Numara FootPrints for customer service). So, if you have 20 agents and 1000 customers using customer self-service, 30-40 users should be counted. This is only a rough guide. Actual load on the system is dependent upon your usage of Numara FootPrints.

(3)The Extended Starter Pack is required to use Linux, UNIX, Oracle, Postgres or MySQL database (with the Base Starter Pack only Windows/SQL Express and Server are supported). Please contact your salesperson for details on obtaining the Extended Starter Pack.
